Dolly’s is the new name for what used to be Lizzy’s, situated right on the corner of Infirmary Road and Portland Street in the Philadelphia district of Sheffield. Dolly’s is now under the management / ownership of City Sauna.
It is immediately adjacent to a tram stop, so much so in fact that if the queue is long, you almost feel part of it when you’re knocking on the door! This makes it sound much worse than it is however, as usually it’s very quiet and therefore discreet enough. All of the surrounding streets are available for free parking, and the vast majority of the time there are loads of free spaces.
You have to knock on the door or rattle the letterbox to get in, as the doorbell has been broken forever. You’re then admitted to the hallway of what is a small two room flat; one being the lounge with a kitchenette off it, the other being the single bedroom. There’s a small bathroom with a shower. It has been tidied up since Lizzy’s days, but still has some way to go, and often there is no towel present.
The lounge now has a double bed, and acts as the second bedroom, just as it did in Lizzy’s days with the couchette affair, so on the occasional days when there are three girls working, one presumes the third has to sit in the hallway or bathroom while proceedings conclude.
The lounge is tidy enough with few comforts, and faces direct onto the tram stop, a matter of inches away, hence the window always curtained or blinded off. The bedroom is a lot better since the new management took over, and is now comfortable and clean, although like many parlours, could really do with somewhere for punters to put their clothes, other than on the floor.
Dolly’s has not got it’s own website, but is referred to on the City Sauna website, which includes pictures of several of the Dolly’s girls, although not all of them, ie, not the ones who only work at Dolly’s. You can turn up unannounced, but it’s not a great idea, and definitely worth ringing in advance to find who is on duty, and when/if they’re free. There are usually two girls on, but occasionally one or three, which as suggested above, doesn’t seem to make much sense given the space constraints.
Prices are at the low-end, but with most of the girls, a sort of “GFE” is available for a bit more, although the service provided under this heading varies rather a lot, and the place seems more geared to quick turnover and short cheap sessions.
