I had decided to explore the north side of Attercliffe Road, which has several parlours that I have never tried. Whilst doing this I came across First Class, which to be honest I had heard about but thought was closed. I rang the number, got some details and went along.
Although I am familiar with Attercliffe Road and its delights, I couldn't place exactly where First Class was; it turns out that is because it is well hidden, with its doorway through an alleyway between shops, about 50 yards diagonally opposite La Chambre. The only clue to there being a parlour there is a small blue and pink coloured neon sign saying "open". This is repeated at the rear, where access is via the free car park on Kimberley Street. If that's full, you can park on Ferguson Street, where there is free on-street parking.
The approach is either via the alleyway mentioned above, two shops to the left of the Carlton pub, or better still from the rear, through the car park where there is a second small neon "open" sign above the door marked clearly "557A". The door is unlocked and you walk straight up where the receptionist and ladies are in a small lounge off the open kitchen at the top of the stairs. The place looks clean, safe and nicely decorated. The main bedroom is large, warm and with a comfortable double bed. There's shower cubicle but it didn't look recently used. Nicely decorated with pictures and an assortment of costumes etc. The place is friendly, a drink is offered and there are facilities.
I am given to understand that it's actually probably the longest established continually running parlour in Sheffield, being there well over 30 years!
On entering, the first girl I saw was someone I recognised as Angel who used to work at Dolly's, City Sauna and Fantasia. She's called Summer here at First Class. I had a quick chat before being greeted by the receptionist, who was busy in the lounge area chatting with a punter and the other lady (50's, pleasant, didn't catch the name). The place is nice, well run and friendly, very much in the style of Classic Touch, and Diamonds before it closed. It's extremely discreetly located, which will appeal to many. So a good find.
